There are so many places to see all around this picturesque region of the Peloponnese, that by the time you depart you will leave a promise to come back to discover the parts you didn’t get a chance to visit this time around. Stunning beaches and endless olive groves steal the limelight but there is much more to see.
From the sandy Stoupa and Kalogria to the pebbles of Pantazi and Ritsa, the Mani region is famous for its beautiful beaches. Whether it’s peace and quiet or lively with beach bars and sea activities, the region has something for everyone. The same can be said for cuisine, between the villages of Agios Nikolaos, Stoupa and Kardamyli you are spoilt for choice for where to dine. Each village has its own style, it’s own history and its own reason to visit and all of them are within a short drive from Astellas. You might also like to drive up into the hidden villages within the mountains and sample wonderful food not changed in gernerations.
Travel further and you can discover some of the most spectacular sites in Greek history. Ancient Olympia, Mystras, Ancient Messene, the castles of Pylos, Methoni and Koroni all of which can be visited on a days exploration. There are also natural wonders to be found, the world famous Diros Caves for example. For those who enjoy walking and cycling The Mani is a must, with vast numbers of walking and cycle routes and so much nature to see and explore.

With numerous supermarkets, pharmacies, cash points everything you need is close at hand. There are also a growing number of shops and boutiques for those who enjoy a little shopping during their holiday. Of course Kalamata is only an hour away for anything else that you may need.
